This is truly a gem of a state park. An early 19th Century Industrial Iron Producing Village that is as rich in events as it is in history. I personally have been going to this park since I was a child and I'm happy to say, thanks to all of the volunteers, Allaire gets better every year. There is so much to see and the costumed villagers are friendly and helpful and as of lately plentiful. Allaire Village was owned by J.P. Allaire and thanks to the iron rich bogs produced all sorts of metal works, even the engine parts for the first steam ship was manufactured there. As far as nature, they have some great trails. There is fishing for the kids, picnic grounds and events, concerts and reenactments several times a month.
