Another special item from my youth and now for my children's is The Pine Creek Railroad.  It is located on the grounds of Allaire State Park and is great family fun.  The Museum/RR receives no funding from the state, so the only means of keeping afloat is from donations and ticket sales.  The tickets are insanely cheap (This year they are apologizing for going up to $4) and the ride takes about 15mins.  They have some great annual events like The Great Train Robbery, Easter, Holloween and Christmas Expresses.  They have plenty of trains, engines, cars and stations to see and thanks to the dedication and hard work of the volunteers, are constantly restoring vintage engines, cars and equipment.  Their is no better way to end or a start a day at Allaire Village than by taking a ride at the Pine Creek RR.
